Hello loyal readers, I hope all three of you haven’t missed me too much.
I’m sorry I haven’t been posting, though I’ve been active over at the Main Event Wrestling Network. Between real life keeping me busy and my brain not wanting to work very well, I’ve been feeling some horrible writer’s block. I want to get back in the groove of writing and creating, but feel free to let me know if you have any ideas you’d like to see
- This week there were some WWE releases, mostly in NXT and the lower developmental shows. I’m incredibly bummed that Wes Lee was among the released stars. He should have been on the main roster when he came back from injury, and instead he was left to flounder in NXT until this. Hopefully he ends up in TNA.
Now let’s get back to this past week.
One Match
Who would have guessed that Maxxine Dupri and Becky Lynch would have put on the match of the week? These two absolutely killed it in the ring together.
Maxxine has legitimately improved so much, and having her get a technical win over Becky without taking the title (yet) was the perfect end. This was just a genuinely great match.
One Moment
What else would top a fireball hitting someone in the face?!
Damian Priest vs. Aleister Black was in the running for match of the week, but the finish deserves the moment. What an unexpected twist, and an amazing way to end the show.
One Promo
The entire plot between CM Punk, Jey Uso and LA Knight is 1000% better than anything they have been doing with The Vision. The promo and the tension between them was more engaging than their various tag teams against Bron and his son.
Crown Jewel
- I really wanted Tiffany Stratton to get the win at Crown Jewel but I knew Stephanie Vaquer would be the one going over. What a hot start to her WWE career overall, and the future of the business is safe with both of these women. The match could have gone longer, but at the same time I didn’t have an issue with the length.
- Seth getting the win over Cody lends more legitimacy to the World Heavyweight Championship. Let’s see if the reign gets any more meaningful.
- Rhea and Iyo are the best duo in professional wrestling. They may well be the best part of WWE overall. I love their friendship.
