This is a day later than normal, let’s not waste any time and just get right to it.
One Match
There’s no way I’m giving this to anyone but John Cena.
John Cena and Sami Zayn put on an amazing match to start the night. I remember John Cena’s first match on SmackDown way back in 2002, and it’s wild to think this is going to be the end of his career. There were so many throwbacks to John Cena’s previous feuds and it was great to see all of the nods to moments through his career. John Cena has spent his last couple matches showing he can still wrestle.
One Moment
Blake Monroe dripping blood… I‘ll stop myself there.
I once shared a post on Facebook with the bi flag that said “I don’t care what gender you are, as long as you’re covered in blood.”
Seeing her own blood is going to kick Blake Monroe into the next level. She’s absolutely going to up her intensity against Jordynne Grace, and that’s exactly what she needs.
One Promo
John Cena started on SmackDown saying he has “Ruthless Aggression” and kickstarted a new era.
John Cena ended by saying he didn’t have a plan, and Sami Zayn came out to tell Cena how much his open challenges made way for up-and-comers before the two had their match. It was a great full-circle moment with the U.S. title after Cena started his career answering Kurt Angle’s open challenge.
Honorable Mentions
- I guess AJ Lee returned. I didn’t watch when she was an active wrestler before, but I know it’s a big deal.
- Alexa Bliss had to make sure the stethoscope worked when she used it on Charlotte Flair. I love those two so much, even if Alexa is unsure if Charlotte has a heart.
