Welcome back everyone.
I turned 35 last Saturday and ended up taking the weekend (and then some) off from the blog. My brain has been having some issues getting the words I want to share out. I’ve been trying to get back into the groove, so here we go with another week of WWE news.
- First off, congratulations to Cody and Brandi on baby number two!
- Wrestlepalooza is going to be the first PLE on ESPN, so I already had to switch my Disney account to a higher bundle. I thought I had until next year.
- Stephanie Vaquer is no longer getting a title shot at Clash in Paris. She’s getting a title shot at some point, but we’ve got to wait a few more days for details. I’m bummed, I was really looking forward to seeing her wrestle someone on the PLE.
- The Speed titles are going to be on NXT, with Sol Ruca defending her title against the winner of an inter-promotion tournament. Now that they’re not X-exclusive, I don’t think we need the titles, but I do love seeing Sol as a double champ.
One Match
Kendal Grey is one of the women I see a very bright future for. Putting her with Wren Sinclair against Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley gave us a fantastic match.
I wish the match had gone a bit longer. Tatum is one of my favorites in NXT, and Izzi Dame has been taking up more of my attention lately. She’s definitely one to watch, and I wish I had realized it sooner. Overall, the women of NXT show out at every opportunity.
One Moment
Michin earned one of the fastest wins imaginable to get a title shot at Giulia, but it was the post-match that really gave us something special.

Giulia very quickly took the chance to attack Michin. It showed a side of Giulia that I’ve been waiting for: brutal and unforgiving. She stood tall over Michin who was draped over the steel steps by the end of it. I’m still not sure if Giulia and Kiana James make total sense together, but as long as Giulia stays a dominant force on Friday nights, I don’t care who she has by her side.
One Promo
This one is surprising, because the promo is good but I have zero interest in the match itself.
Bronson’s lines went hard going up against Roman Reigns. And this is definitely the best he’s ever been used on television, but I just don’t care one bit about these two actually having a singles match with one another.
Honorable Mentions
- Sami Zayn won the U.S. title on SmackDown. It felt too quick, and I don’t think he needed to be in the title picture. I just don’t care for the way he’s being booked currently.
- Nikki Bella is absolutely winning me over. I didn’t watch her original run, so I’ve really been enjoying getting to know her as a character now. And while I love Becky, I really dislike the way she’s been doing her promos lately. She’s not a good heel, she’s a cheap one.
- I don’t know where this New Day story is going, but I just wish Grayson Waller was a singles competitor going for the U.S. or Intercontinental title.
