There are quite a few games that I love but still have not gotten through. Some of them I’ve only played once, others, I’ve started a handful of times. One of them in particular is a very regular part of my rotation, but the story isn’t the part that draws me in the most.
Regardless, here are five games that I love that I have not completed.
1. Sleeping Dogs

It probably won’t come as a surprise that this one is on my list of games I haven’t completed.
I love everything about the game, but I constantly struggle with open world games. I’ve started it a few times and I get into the story, but I lose focus, start playing other games, and less time gets devoted to Sleeping Dogs.
I was gifted the Definitive Edition on Steam, so it is getting closer to the time where I give it another shot.
2. Alan Wake

This game is so fucking good that I can’t believe I haven’t beaten it. It sat in my backlog for years after I originally purchased it, and I started to get serious with a playthrough a few years ago. I was so immersed in the story, and I enjoy the gameplay.
Then tragedy struck. Somehow both my SSD and HDD crashed in the computer I had at the time, and I lost my playthrough. By the time I had a working PC again, my interests had shifted towards other games and I just haven’t gone back. Yet.
It’s currently installed on both my Steam Deck and my PC. I just have to decide where I want to play it. Funnily enough, I’m leaning towards getting it for my PS5 instead.
3. Batman: Arkham Asylum

This was one of the first PC games I got, along with Arkham City and Gotham City Imposters in a bundle all the way back around 2012.
Batman and I go way back with The Animated Series as a kid in the 90s. I read some of the comics, watched all the movies. And the game was absolutely fantastic, but I got it when I was in the thick of my college career and I just didn’t dedicate as much time to gaming between school work and partying. This game (and the sequels) definitely deserve attention at some point in the future.
4. Resident Evil 4 Remake

First off, this remake is perfect. I love this game and I need to finish.
It’s another game that came into my life right when life got busy. And then when things started to calm down, I broke both of my arms and my PS5 sat neglected until my life made some drastic changes and I moved back home to California. Once I finish my Spider-Man 2 playthrough, it’s a toss-up between this or The Last of Us: Part II being next.
5. Grand Theft Auto V

This one is wild. I play this game a lot. But usually, it’s not playing the missions. I enjoy the chaos of GTA, and end up spending more time causing endless mayhem rather than playing the story. I have seen the end of the game, as I saw my ex beat the game, and I played some of the missions with her.
But more often than not you can see me going on a killing spree, or spawning myself atop a mountain and riding bikes and motorbikes down the sides of them just to see if I can.
So tell me what you think. Which of these games should I prioritize? And which games sit in your catalog, similarly begging for attention?
